Following 4 years of Masterplanning and community engagement the expansion designs for Sorell High are now complete and the construction well underway. The expansion incorporates:
2000 m2 newbuild for Years 9-12
600 m2 newbuild for Administration
320 m2 newbuild for Food
New Child & Family Learning Centre
Refurbish and newbuild Years 3-6
Expand and redevelop Early Years and Years 7-8
Combined with existing Adult Training Centre, School Farm precinct and primary kitchen garden, the Sorell Campus now represents a full community education hub, from Early Learning years right through to adult employability skills training.
Site development involved extensive rerouting of utility infrastructure and roadworks servicing the school and East Coast/Tasman Peninsular municipalities.
Programming of works around school terms was paramount to avoid necessary disruptions to school functionality.
