Glebe Hill Village is a greenfield development on Hobart’s Eastern Shore serving the fast growing suburbs of Rokeby, Clarendenvale, Oakdowns and surrounding areas.
Project delivery was Design & Construct with Tipalea as developer/project manager, and Fairbrother as main contractor/design manager with BDA Architects and JMG Engineering.
The ‘Village’ incorporates Coles Supermarket as anchor tenant, with 17 specialty tenants in the shopping mall, plus a McDonalds burger restaurant on the site. Extensive new roadworks and utility infrastructure upgrades were required to service the site.
JMG worked closely with Fairbrother and Coles to coordinate engineering concepts and details to meet Coles evolving and exacting Design Kit standards.
Energy efficiency, sustainable design, flexibility for future tenancy fitouts, high security, use of modern technology, and custom lighting, were some of the specified criteria to ensure delivery of an ‘’up-to-the-minute’’ shopping centre.
