Chris Holloway
Chair
In June 2024, Chris retired from his position as Managing Director of JMG but continues to serve as Chair of the JMG Board. With 40 years of experience in the consulting engineering industry, including 27 years at JMG, Chris has held key roles such as Managing Director and Principal Electrical Engineer within JMG’s Building Services Group.

In his new capacity as Chair, Chris offers guidance that extends beyond his technical engineering background. His responsibilities include governance, fostering leadership, communication, and strategic thinking while also nurturing important relationships with our Directors. This ensures that each Board member can utilise their unique skills to benefit JMG effectively. ​

Chris Males
Director
Chris is a Director of JMG and Manager of the Civil and Structural Engineering Group. Through Chris' long career with JMG he has developed a broad ranging experience in civil engineering design and contract administration phase services for major building projects, road and subdivisions, servicing the government and private commercial market sectors.
He offers particular expertise in the masterplanning of site services infrastructure, which he has undertaken for such prominent sites as MONA, Cambridge Park, MyState Bank Arena and Devonport Homemaker Centre. As Group Manager he is responsible for the day-to-day management of resources and maintenance of technical quality in civil and structural disciplines in addition to his primary client liaison role. ​

Jessica Weber
Director
In 2016, Jessica joined JMG as the Assistant Business & Finance Manager and later progressed to the leadership position of FinOps Manager. By 2023, she was promoted to Director. With 20 years of experience in accounting across various levels, Jessica is currently pursuing her CPA postgraduate qualification.
Jessica has a genuine passion for numbers, but she also relishes the operational responsibilities that come with her role, including overseeing WHS, Human Resources, Administration, and IT Systems at JMG. Additionally, Jess considers herself a bit of a gamer and enjoys exploring Tasmania's wonderful food and wine scene.​​​​​

Nick Allen
Director & Northern Regional Manager
Nick is a Director and Manager of JMG's Launceston office which includes Mechanical, Electrical, Fire, Hydraulic, Lifts, Security and ITC as well as Civil and Structural services.
Nick's varied and successful track record includes MyState Bank Arena Redevelopment, Silverdome upgrades, UTAS Cradle Coast Campuses and multiple projects at the Burnie North Regional Hospital and Mersey Community Hospital at Latrobe.
Nick’s experience and expertise extends to all phases of building projects, from the technical design of Electrical/Comms/Security and dry Fire systems, to multidisciplinary design management and construction phase contract administration roles.

Nicholas Stolp
Principal & Building Services Group Manager
Nicholas is responsible for mechanical services technical design standards, oversees all mechanical design projects and more recently has become Building Services Group Manager.
​
During his 30 years in the engineering design industry, Nicholas has worked on a broad range of projects including commercial and institutional buildings, offices, hospitals, laboratories, hotels, shopping centres, theatres, galleries and museums.
Nicholas also heads up JMG’s Integrated Fire Safety Design Team which coordinates compliance and optimisation for fire designs across all JMG divisions. Significant projects Nicholas has worked on include UTAS The Hedberg, MyState Bank Arena, Mona Pharos and Siloam, and the Hobart Icon/Myer Redevelopment.​​

Nick Rayner
Principal & Building Services Group Manager
​Nick joined the JMG team in 2018. Nick has over 15 years’ experience in Building Services design, installation, and commissioning, as a Project Manager with a major contracting firm.
Nick’s broad ranging experience includes hands-on design and project management across all aspects of mechanical services control systems, communications, and security systems, working on a multitude of projects for Universities, Hospitals, Office spaces and Museums.

In 2023 Nick became a Principal in our business and more recently , Building Services Group Manager with oversight of our Facilities Management team who service over 500 facilities and $4.8M in annual maintenance contracts.

Bass Gamlin
Principal - Senior Civil Engineer
Bass joined JMG in October 2016. He brings a wealth of experience in the management of civil infrastructure projects, both in the construction and delivery environment and the consulting / design environment. Bass is able to provide a risk based approach to mitigate project construction, economic and program risks.
Areas of expertise include: Road, rail and bridge design, Building design, Heavy industry civil design, Stormwater management and design Contract management, Cost estimation and project economics, Windfarm design, Demolition, and Construction management.
​His proactive and enthusiastic management style promotes a collaborative team environment that focuses on technical opportunities that yield the best project results. ​​​

Robert Child
Associate - Senior Structural Engineer
Robert has over 15 years of experience in structural, civil and hydraulic design and contract administration across commercial, industrial and residential sectors. His expertise includes steel, timber and reinforced concrete structural design. Robert joined JMG in January 2001 as a graduate Civil Engineer, and has since gained experience in structural, civil and hydraulic design and contract administration in the commercial, industrial and residential sectors.

Robert manages the Structural Section of JMG on a statewide basis which in recent times has undertaken the structural design for several of the larger projects constructed in both the southern and northern regions of Tasmania. Robert has been working closely with Peter Spratt (Heritage Engineer) on numerous buildings around the state as well as obtaining his Diploma in Project Management.​​​​​ ​
Justin Boocock
Associate - Senior Civil Engineer
Justin joined JMG in January 2014. He has over 21 years broad civil engineering experience having worked for local (Brighton, Derwent Valley and Hobart) Councils and state government (DSG) as well as a water authority (TasWater) and private consulting.
​
Justin has focused primarily on the water sector (water, sewerage and stormwater) where he has experience in analysis, design, construction, modelling and project delivery. He has delivered over 19 pumping stations and 120km of pipeline as well as minor and major road projects throughout the state. Justin’s broad experience and expertise enables him to weave client requirements into broader community and stakeholder expectations.​​

Nathan Stevanovich
Associate - Lead Mechanical Designer
Nathan joined JMG in 2005 and possess over 30 years of experience in the design, management, commissioning, and optimisation of air conditioning, industrial ventilation, gas, and fire protection systems within diverse building sectors.
​His broad expertise ensures the delivery of efficient and effective designs for a range of services and sectors, including hospitals, courts, prisons, laboratories, educational institutions, offices, hotels, and retail projects. Nathan has refined his proficiency in system commissioning and diagnostics to troubleshoot problems and elevate system efficiency.​

Colin Purdon
Senior Consultant - Mechanical
In his 35 years in the industry, and 25 years with JMG, Colin has practiced in Sydney, London, Vietnam and Tasmania. His experience covers a diverse range of projects, from small refurbishments to multistorey hotels, from office buildings to aquatic centres, from energy systems to research laboratories.

Although recently retired as a JMG Company Director, Colin continues to work for us in a Senior Mechanical consulting role. ​​​

Grant Atherton
Senior Consultant - Civil, Structural and Hydraulics
With over 35 years in the industry and 24 years with JMG, Grant has practiced across the government, construction and consulting sectors. His experience covers a diverse range of projects, from residential and commercial subdivisions to major highways, from pipelines to pump stations, from railways to reservoirs, from sheds to offices, from marinas to museums, from dams to demolition, from bridges to boardwalks, from reed beds to remediation.
​
Grant’s construction experience allows him to ensure design concepts and details specified are both easily constructed and economical while still meeting required quality parameters. Grant has a passion for innovation and looks beyond the normal solutions to achieve optimum outcomes for JMG’s clients. Although recently retired as a JMG Company Director, Grant currently works for us in a Senior Civil Engineer consulting role.
